Purpose and activities

The purpose of our club is to promote the
Researching of the history of cardboard modeling

Our club has been established some years ago in Germany and is aiming at the development of card modeling. We

actively participate in the research on the economic and cultural aspects of card modeling in history and present time
propagate the results of this research to the public by ways of publications or participation in conventions or exhibits
support auctions in order to enhance/develop the interest of the younger generation in the craft of card modeling

Our main targets are:

publishing of the annual issue of 'History of card modeling' (see Publications of the AGK ). Those booklets contain information on the history of publishing houses and their products, on the life and work of designers and a lot of other interesting news from the world of card modeling. These booklets have been researched thoroughly using original sources thus showing the up-to-date findings of research. Illustrations have also legends English and all articles have an English summary. Each issue comes with a reproduction of a historic model sheet explaining both the sheet as well as the model.
development of a data base of all paper models published so far worldwide (see the 'direct access' functions at the left side). There you will also find some facts about the data base. Detailed information are reserved for members of AGK and require login and a password. Unfortunately, not all pages are available in English yet - but you are cordially invited to contribute to this data base. For contact information see the Imprint and contact page.
collecting catalogues as an important aid to the dating of model kits in order to research their background
