More information about these models

"Wunderwelt" (wonder world, or world of wonders) was an Austrian magazine for children and young adults published by Josef Domany, beginning in 1948. After many successful years the publishers and the profile of the magazine changed frequently until it was abandoned completely in 1986. The hallmark of the magazine have always been its card models, in particular the nativity sets published in the Christmas and special issues. They were designed by various designers and illustrators, about 80 of them were published over the years. Among them weer "classic" mangers scene arrays, small sets to be suspended, foldable box sets and even smaller scenes in letter format. Here we present 3 classic scenes for download, by kind permission of Werner Grieshofer. Enjoy building them!!

If you want to know more about the authors and the history of the "Wunderwelt" magazine you should visit the website of Werner Grieshofer Digitale "Wunderwelt" (German text only). He has collected every known fact about the “Wunderwelt” and presents it on these web pages.
Werner Grieshofer and Erich Hofmann has also written an extensive article about models and cut-out sheets designed for the “Wunderwelt” for the AGK. It was published in our magazine "Zur Geschichte des Kartonmodellbaus", vol. 21 (2021). You can read an excerpt here.
All of the more than 750 models and cut-out sheets from the “Wunderwelt” are in the AGK model database. If you are specifically interested in the nativity scenes you can find the corresponding overview pages by searching for model series ('Search models' - 'Model series' - "Wunderwelt").
