The AGK is proud to present, in collaboration with Axel Huppers and the Aue-Verlag, the new issue of the card model "Chris Craft Futura Sports Express Cruiser". This ship was build 1956; with a maximum speed of about 58 km/h it was very fast for the time. In 1959 the Schreiber-Verlag in Esslingen (Germany) published (under article number 71108) the corresponding card model, constructed by Ellhardt Brückner. A splendid model in its own right, one of the special things about it is that it was designed to be equipped with an engine and some sort of mechanical remote control gear. And of course, with enough varnish applied, the ship could actually swim! The model is constructed in 1:20 scale, with a resulting length of 58 cm and a width of 18.5 cm. We provide additional information about this model (in German) in volume no. 9 of our magazine "Zur Geschichte des Kartonmodellbaus" (see the sample page and ordering information).
You can order this card model (ISBN 978-3-87029-307-9) at the Aue-Verlag, Korber Straße 20, D-74219 Möckmühl (see their online shop) for 39.90 Euro. Members of the AGK have recieved this model for free (if they paid their membership fee for 2009). The following pictures give you some impressions about the built model, the model sheets and the original boat.
